What is different about what this course will teach me?
Holly Bailey -- the course creator -- is an engineer first and a business person second. She speaks the language of engineers and has a detail-focused, task-oriented personality like most engineers. She doesn’t waste time with information that is theoretical and uses exercises that are practical and helpful. After 38 years running an engineering firm and mentoring other small firms – she really ‘gets it,’ and isn’t trying to turn you into a businessperson or sales machine, but yet gives it to you straight so you, too, can be successful.
Can hardly focus right now! - with the kids at home, working at home, no fun time.... how much time will this course take and how quickly can I do it?
I used to offer this course as self-paced, but clients requested I do the pacing for them, so...this class is being offered with content released to you through email, weekly. The amount of time to read through a lesson and do the Quizzes averages 15 minutes. The exercises are where the changes to your business will occur, and these can take you 10 minutes / lesson or if you really dig in- could take you a 1/2 hour+ for some, to gain really beneficial awareness that you can implement immediately. Ultimately you have access to the course materials for 100 days from enrollment, so you have plenty of time to revisit lessons or get to them at your pace, so if you have to work around all the logistics of kid's schooling and working from home - you can still get it done. Your business benefits will surprise you!
What if I don’t understand something and need more help?
There are opportunities throughout the course to ask questions directly to your Coach and she will respond within 2 business days at most. As you come to the end of the course, if you want to plan your next moves, Holly offers a free ½ hour Strategy Session by video chat that would be a great choice. (You’ll have a questionnaire to fill out first, so your session is highly effective, though short). Getting started is always the toughest part - but help is available.
I see there are CEU’s offered for this course – how do I get credit?
Depending on your state, they may or may not allow business development courses to apply for CEU’s. This course is specifically focused on Professional Engineers, rather than general business, so it normally counts in the ‘other’ category of CEU’s. You will get a Certificate upon your completion of the Course to use for showing proof of attendance. Each Module has quizzes and interactions that serve to verify your participation so that we can provide the Certificate. Please check your state's licensing requirements for CEU’s to verify this will count for you.
